Hello there club members!
I apologize for not having time for the club for the last month. I'll be catching up on your submissions in a day or so. I don't have the energy to go through them at this late hour. I'll just update the memberlist tonight.

This is something very serious. I thought I'd share it with all of you cause I know some of you are as much as animal lovers as I am.
Please, if you have friends who have pets, please warn them of this!
Ok, the day before, my mom put this product on my cat. It's called Hartz flea and tick drops. Well that night, my cat was wobbling as he walked and his pupils were huge! We thought he was on catnip... but then he started making a weezing noise.
The next day, my cat went off and hid in the backyard for about 4 hours! Mom was worried and when I came home from college, we found him hidden in a tarp in the backyard.
Mom called the vet as we brought him inside. We did some web research and found out that this wasn't the first time that this has happened..
As I searched, I have discovered that animals that have used Hartz products before have DIED. Hartz actually has a bunch of lawsuits cause they've been known to kill cats and dogs. I came across a woman's website that she had dedicated to her loving dog who died because of that product.
The vet told us to bring him in right away, and so we did. Thank God, mom washed the stuff off the cat that very morning and the vets said "That's the best thing you could of done for him."
And my cat was able to come home that very day.
Now, my 4 year old cat Nefee, is sleeping, but he's fine and much better. He's still eating and drinking, so we see signs of hope. On the way to the vets, I felt like crying cause I thought there was a chance he was going to die.

Please do not purchase this product and tell your friends. This product needs to be taken off the shelves.

Hi there community members! I'd like to introduce myself. I'm Tigru, the new admin of dogs. I thought I should jump in and help since the other admins don't have so much time to commit to the club right now. I've got lots of it at the moment.

The best costumed doggy!
Starting today, 18Jan2006, we have a contest running. Did you dress up your dog for Halloween, Christmas, or some other recent occasion? I hope so, because now is your chance to show off pictures of those adorable costumes. This contest is open to photos only, and they must be pictures of your own dog, in a real costume. The contest will be open until midnight (eastern time) on 17Feb2006. To submit your entries, send the club a note with the subject line as "contest submission," and include a link to the picture that is posted in your own deviantART account. You may submit as many entries as you wish!
Also, Please send in notes with your theme suggestions. (Please make the subject line "contest suggestion.")

Check this out, from florafawna! She says, "I have a thing in my journal called the Weekly Featured Artist. It features an artist weekly that have at least ten traditional art peices of animals - preferably dogs, cats or fish - I also have a Weekly Featured Deviation which I will start on the next WFA journal - it's a featured single deviation." Be sure to check out her journal here: florafawna.deviantart.com/jour… . It's always great to see someone supporting animal art!

You may notice the new text included with all submissions.
Each submission will:
ask for 
s to be added on the original -not the club- submission,
contain the description from the original submission,
and include a link to the original.
Comments are now disabled on gallery submissions. This is a great way to get viewers to visit the original artist's page and leave their comment on the original submission. This way, an artist is notified on their own account when they have a new comment--just like normal. So, no more needing to check on your submissions in the community to see if you have comments to reply to! Please express any concerns about this change.
The last change for now is a new limit on submissions. This may not seem necessary now, but once this great community becomes as active as it can, everyone will find it helpful. The new limit is: Five submissions from each member per week. Again, please express any concerns about this new rule!
So, I hope everyone is ready to submit their dog art! If not, why not get some started? I would love to see this community have some fun contests in the future as well.
